Not only do we distribute re-usable sanitary pads, We focus on education to change the narrative regarding periods, helping girls take control of their lives.
The Chosen Pads is a social enterprise based in Gaborone, Botswana, that manufactures and distributes high-quality, reusable sanitary towels in Southern Africa.
The majority of our activities are made possible by donations made by corporate companies for school going girls in disadvantaged communities. We also have a direct selling market that is growing daily, with ladies choosing The Chosen Pads re-usable pads for themselves and their daughters.
We educate girls on safe hygiene practices, create awareness of menstruation and reproductive systems, and help to address the problem of missed school days due to periods.
Our target is to reach 10,000 teenage school girls in 2020 across disadvantaged Southern Africa; helping them to stay in class.
“If you want to go fast, go alone; if you want to go far, go together”
Our pads are made with love by African women in our factory in Gaborone. Not only are we changing the lives of young girls in schools, but we are also creating sustainabel employment for women, who are also mothers and carers.
